So, I am still going strong with my Project 12 and Project Life catchup.

I decided to do Project 12 for 2011 and 2012 and then switch over to Project Life for 2013. Well, I am "behind" with both projects. But, with the creation of the layout below, I am happy to say I only have five more months to document until I am finished with Project 12 completely. Project Life - well, I am weeks behind in that. But, I am diligent about writing down daily notes and then at the end of each week, writing up a weekly recap as well as gathering all my digital photos in a folder on my computer for that week. So, when it's time to play catchup, I'm organized and already have everything written down so nothing is forgotten. This way, I don't stress out as much about being behind.

So today I am going to share with you another fabulous Page Maps sketch that's perfect for documenting Project 12 or any other layout where you have lots of photos to include...
Image

And here is my July 2012 Project 12 layout that I created based on the above sketch and using my July Authentique Pride Design Team Kit...
Image

So now for your challenge. Create a layout (about any topic) using the sketch above as inspiration!

The rules:
* Create a new project for this challenge.
* Upload your layout in the gallery and link back here by August 31st for a chance in the monthly prize drawing.

Megan, I love both the sketch and your wonderful layout!! I'm always on the look-out for appealing 2-page sketches for my travel albums.

That's an awesome double pager and such a creative take on the Project Life concept.

Omgsh, I just LOVE this sketch! You know ... every so often something will just catch your eye. Not sure if it's the balance, the scale ... or the totally amazing example of what you can do with it  ... but this one ROCKS my mojo!!! ohhh, I think I'll start pulling a few photos NOW!!!

Love this Megan.

Question for you. Are you containing your Project 12 as a 2 page spread? I have been doing my Year-o-Graphy book for 2012 and I finished through August and am into September 2012 now. But I find I cannot do it in 2 pages. Some months are 3-4 pages or even more for the really busy months. I use the pocket pages for photos and journaling similar to Project Life and throw in some full 12x12 pages here and there. I am finding that I love that concept.

Back to the question on your book. Do you feel that the double pages give you a good feel because you scrap other pictures/events? I tried that concept but I really wanted just a touch more.

Love this Page Map set and what you did with it BTW!

Just looking for your impressions of the process

I do force myself to keep my Project 12 to two pages per month. I do this by choosing just one photo to represent with each major event that month and then supplement the spreads with any miscellaneous photos that may not fit on any other page. And I don't worry about the photos I leave off because I know that they will be represented on pages about the specific event. For example, the one photo of Liam's Baptism will not be the only photo I scrap from that day. I will probably have a few Baptism-specific pages in my book. I view my Project 12 layouts as a sort of "recap" of the month and they are filed in with all the rest of my layouts, which are arranged chronologically. I place the project 12 layout at the end of the month.

Hope I answered your question Laura!

I really loved how this sketch worked for my layout, Megan. As you can see, I changed the right side of the layout somewhat to include even more pictures. The left side, however, is just as the sketch dictates. I love using the Project Life ideas for my 2-page travel memories. Here it is:

I love this sketch, perfect for travel photos when you have lots of photos. Mine is sort of crooked, because the pp I used on the right has a crooked design. The pages look weird put together, so I'm posting each side individually.

Love your layout, Louise! I agree with you - this sketch is wonderful for travel pages. I think I'm going to use this one again.

I can't tell you how long it's been since I've done a 2-page layout! But, I've been SO inspired by all of your Project projects, Megan, that I'm beginning to collect supplies and I'm VERY close to actually thinking I might start my own Project. I've been dragging my feet ... because I don't want to start and then not like it, and then feel like a failure because I didn't continue. But, it really was fun working on this .. getting lots of 'story' photos of our weekend in Vegas. It's not the same kind of scrapping that I normally do ... the crafty, embellish laden pages. But, I love that I actually scrapped an EVENT rather than just a 'moment'. Does that make sense?

Anyway, here's my take! And, btw ... I don't think there's a Page Maps sketch that I don't love.

I love your page, Colette, and agree with you and others that the sketch Megan selected is wonderful. I love being about to get lots of pictures on a 2-pager. This sketch is getting pinned for future use!

I love it Colette! I'm so honored to hear that my P12 layouts have inspired you to scrap more 2-page events! I think this layout is a great start.

Bev - wonderful layout! Gotta love Lisa's sketches!
