This is a deep frame I altered to hold my rose I received from my dad's funeral. I used papers on the background that reflected my dad...he was a carpenter and loved old things, so I used some vintage-looking text paper and some barn wood paper I had. The screw brads also tie in that same theme. One of my favorite memories I had was helping him in his workshop when I was a child and I loved playing with his folding wooden tape measure stick, so I added a strip of paper in the center that fit that memory for me. He was 59 when he died, so I used a strip of the measuring tape paper that had that number on it. The flower has ribbon tied around it and is glued onto the background. I added a nameplate with the date he died on the wood part inside the frame, so everything is completely protected inside.

I love this idea! I'm sorry to hear your father passed so early in life. I have a rose from my Gram's funeral, I think I will do something similar, rather than it just laying on my shelf.

I really, really love this! Such a touching momento of your father. I hope that you have put a note on the back of the frame explaining the meaning of the items in the frame (just like what you wrote when you posted the picture here). Future generations will want to know more about it.
